
Winners Holding Investments and Finas Group have commissioned a 100 MWh battery energy storage system in Glodeni, Mureș County, following an investment of more than EUR 25 million. The project is the second developed within the two companies’ joint portfolio, in partnership with Chinese manufacturer Sieyuan Electric.
The new installation comes a few months after the signing, in March 2026, of a Memorandum of Understanding between Winners Holding Investments, Finas Group and Sieyuan Electric, and continues their strategy to develop energy storage infrastructure in Romania.
The first battery in the portfolio, with a capacity of 10 MWh, was completed in April in Aghireșu, Cluj County. With the commissioning of the Glodeni unit, the storage capacity managed under the joint projects increases to 110 MWh, according to data provided by the companies.
The portfolio is set to expand by November with a third battery, with a capacity of 200 MWh, in Jibou, Sălaj County. The investment is estimated at approximately EUR 45 million. Once the project is completed, the combined capacity of the three units is expected to reach 310 MWh.
For the Glodeni project, Winners Holding Investments and Finas Group highlighted the involvement of teams from the National Power Dispatch (DEN), Distribuție Energie Electrică România (DEER) and PPC România, as well as the cooperation with Sieyuan Electric and the contractors involved in implementation.

Winners Holding Investments and Finas Group are thus continuing to expand their energy storage portfolio in partnership with Sieyuan Electric, focusing on projects designed to increase the flexibility and balancing capacity of the national grid.
